    The Memorial of the New Forth Army headquarters is located in Yunling of Jing County in Anhui Province.
    After the July 7th incident in 1937, the guerrillas of the Red Army in fourteen districts of eight southern provinces were reorganized to be the Newly Organized No.4 Army of the National Revolutionary Army, called the New Fourth Army for short. On 25th December, 1937, the headquarters of New Fourth Army was founded in Wuhan. Then it moved to Yunling on 2nd August in 1938, where it had existed until the Southern Anhui Incident took place. During the three-year period in Yunling, the New Fourth Army experienced its most crucial time when it approached enemy’s rear area in central China, contributing tremendously to Chinese revolution and marking a glorious page to Chinese revolution.
　In 1961, the Yunling New Fourth Army Headquarters was announced by the State Council as the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, and its inscription Memorial of New Fourth Army Headquarters was given by Marshal Chen Yi in July 1963. From then on, the memorial had its official establishment. The number of the rare pictures, cultural relics and documents in the memorial totals more than 4000. The exhibition combines the old and new to show the significant achievements of the Chinese older proletarian revolutionists of the New Fourth Army and reproduce the shocking Southern Anhui Incident.
　Today, the Memorial of the New Fourth Army Headquarters is the only one listed as the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit among all monuments of New Fourth Army. It is also one of the most completely preserved revolutionary former sites throughout the country as well as one of the eight important historical relics in modern China.
