China’s space station core module Tianhe blasted off at 11:23 a.m. on April 29, landing in the per-determined orbit and marking a successful mission. In his congratulatory message, Chinese General Secretary, Xi Jinping, pointed out that to build a space station and a national manned space lab are significant goals of China’s “Three-step” strategy of manned space program which are also the significant leading projects to build China as a powerful nation of science, technology and space. The successful launch of the Tianhe core module marks the construction of China’s space station into the full implementation phase and lays a solid foundation for the lunch of subsequent missions. Xi also points out that we should vigorously promote the hard-work spirit of “Two Bombs and One Satellite” and the arduous spirit of manned spaceflight exploration. Meanwhile, we should be self-dependent and innovative in order to achieve the overall success in building China’s space station and make new and great contribution to building a modern socialist country in all respects.
