The Sichuan Province Health Commission sent three state-level medical teams, five province-level teams and six county-level health emergency teams, with a total of forty-three medical vehicles (including ambulances) and nearly 700 medical personnel to participate in the earthquake-relief drill called Emergency mission-2021 on 14th. In this drill, the three national medical teams worked together to build makeshift hospitals for the first time.

The medical rescue unit of this drill simulated severe situation after 7.5-level earthquake, such as house collapse, a large number of casualties, and damage of the local medical system. Then the medical aid moved to the disaster-stricken areas rapidly. Three national emergency medical rescue teams and disease control departments of Sichuan jointly set up makeshift hospitals so as to replace and supplement destroyed medical resources in these areas quickly.
