The Exhibition Hall of Lidazhao Martyr `s Cemetery is located in the Wan’an Cemetery in the southeast of Fragrant Hills, west of Beijing. It covers an area of 2,200 square meters, being completed and first opened to the public in October 29th, 1983.
Li Dazhao was one of the early founders of Communist Party and had made great contributions to the New Cultural Movement, the foundation of the Communist Party and the first cooperation between KMT and CPC. Li was murdered by reactionary warlords in 1927 and was buried in Wanan cemetery by the underground Chinese Communist party in 1933.
There is a white marble statue of Li Dazhao in the cemetery, behind which is the grave of Li and his wife Zhao Renlan. A monument was raised at back of the grave bearing the inscription of Deng Xiaoping. The inscription in the north of the monument was written by the Central Communist Party. The exhibition hall of Lidazhao`s revolutionary deeds is seated in the west room of the yard, where lots of pictures and relics are displayed to demonstrate Li’s revolutionary fighting experience and great achievements.
Today Li Dazhao martyrs `s cemetery is an important educational base for patriotism and revolutionary tradition in China.
