Located in Pingjin Road No.8 in Hongqiao District, Tianjin, the memorial hall of Pingjin Battle was built in memory of the Pingjin battle. The construction of the memorial began in August 1994, and completed in 1997. The memorial Hall consists of Victory Square, main exhibition hall and multidimensional demo hall. The main building, covering an area of 12,800 square meters, shares both Chinese traditional flavor and modern aesthetic style.
In this world-famous campaign, over 7,000 soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army sacrificed, and until now, 6,751 martyrs have been listed on the “heroes’ wall” of the memorial Hall. On the basis of retaining its distinct thematic features and high-leveled basic displays, the memorial hall is changing concepts, constantly expanding business areas and extending its educational functions, so as to better play the role as an educational base.
The Memorial Hall of Pingjin Battle has become an important educational base for patriotism and national defense in Tianjin city. In great festivals and memorial days each year, it always actively cooperates with official organizations, enterprises and institutions, schools and troops, launching various memorial activities, all of which have achieved favourable educational effects.
