The former residence of Chen Yun is located in the office yard of Forestry Bureau in Linjiang city with the acreage of 133 square meters. It introduces Chen Yun’s work experience and the details of the battle of “Protecting Linjiang for Four Times” through many precious pictures and historical materials. Furthermore, it displays some articles of Chen Yun’s for daily use and work.
       Living here, Chen Yun commanded the famous battle of “Protecting Linjiang for Four Times”. At that time, the base of Southern Manchuria just covered four counties of Linjiang, Fusong, Changbai, Mengjiang (today’s Jingyu). The situation was extremely serious, so the Party, governmental, and military departments, factories and hospitals of LiaoNing and Andong were all transferred to Linjiang. Until 3rd April, 1947, the Northeast Democratic Allied Army beat off the four attacks on Linjiang by the Kuomintang, shattering the enemy’s combat plan of “south first, then north”, and reversing the war situation in the northeast. After that battle, the enemy turned the strategic offense to defense. Therefore, the Northeast Democratic Allied Army became completely offensive.
      Chen Yun also led the movement of land reform in the east of Liaoling, making great contributions to the east Liaoling’s Party, government and military development, the rehabilitation of national economy and the liberation of the northeast. Along with the trend to the success of Liberation War in the northeast, Chen Yun left Linjiang in June 1947.
