Located at the Jingyu road of Tonghua City, Jilin province, martyr Yang Jinyu `s cemetery was established in Sep. 1957. With a length of 200 meters from the east to west and a width of 100 meters from the north to the south, the cemetery is mainly separated into mourning hall and vault. Solemnly and serenely, the cemetery was flanked by four display halls in four sides. In center stands a huge bronze statue of general Yang Jinyu in martial attire. The flanked display halls exhibit about 280 relics and photos of Yang, reflecting his teenage life and the days during anti-Japanese war.
Yang Jingyu, a great anti-Japanese national hero, is an outstanding general of people`s army as well as an excellent proletarian revolutionary. His spirits of patriotism, arduous struggle and revolutionary heroism have set up an immortal monument for the Chinese nation.
In 1954, the Party Central Committee and the State Council decided to build the Cemetery of Yang Jinyu, which was completed in 1958. Since then, this cemetery has not only served as a vehicle to promote Yang`s brilliant achievements and revolutionary spirit, but also an important base for patriotism education and national spirit.
