The guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying was led by the Communist Party of China during the period of democratic revolution of China, fighting with the KMT reactionaries by means of guerrilla war in the area of Mount Huaying. The so-called guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying mainly refers to the southwest democratic coalition organised and led by the interim committee of east Sichuan Province in the fall of 1948. Huaying mountain area, next to Chongqing, has been a strategic point for sources of troops and army provisions of the KMT before liberation. From 1947 to 1949, the area witnessed surging revolutionary waves which resulted in pining down the enemy and ensuring the entry into Sichuan for the Peoples Liberation Army. The image in the famous novel Red Rock, the twin-spear old woman, is a reproduction according to the guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying. The main red tourist attractions in Huaying mainly include the red memorial hall, the dynamic film and television of the guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying, the red revolution square, the tomb of the martyrs, the guerrilla detachment trail in west stone forest, the outdoor guerrilla radium war in stone forest, the twin-spear old woman shooting gallery, the beacon tower, activities center for guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying, the guerrilla’s training and consolidation department and headquarter. The battle sites and monuments of the guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying are of great historical significance in promoting the "Red Rock Spirit". Standing in the battle site of the guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying, Yang Yunhong and Li Fangfen couple from Hechuan County, Chongqing, signed with emotion, “there are two battlefields in Red Rock, one is in Dregs Cave and Bai Mansion in prison and the other in Mount Huaying outside prison; the historical contribution of the guerrilla forces in Mount Huaying has been so moving that it will encourage us to cherish the present happy life and carry forward the Red Rock spirit, creating a better future and making contributions to the great rejuvenation of China.”
