The upper exhibition hall displays the modern history of Fujian from The Opium War in 1840 to the founding of new China in 1949, including the Battle of Fuzhou between China and France, the working sites of Sun Yat-sen in Fujian, the Gutian conference, the places on which the nine marshals fought, the material of Lin Zexu, Yan Fu, Lin Juemin, Qu Qiubai and so on. The lower exhibition hall exhibits magnificent achievements during the past 5 decades such as the heroes Du Fengrui, Mai Xiande and An Yemin in coastal defence front line and the good cadres of socialist construction such as Gu Wenchang and Su Xintian .
