    Shen Junru was one of“the seven patriotic gentlemen”with lofty reputation. His former home which was built in Qing dynasty is located at number 3, Nanbang coast in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. In 1996，it was announced as the provincial civilization protection unit by the government and then got renovated. In honor of his brilliant life and to commemorate his patriotism and noble qualities, Shen Junru Memorial Hall was open to public on 11 June, 1998 at the 35th anniversary of Shen’s death.

    Crossing the forecourt and walking into the vestibule，visitors can see a bronze statue of benevolent Mr. Shen. In a left room of the vestibule displays stone human figures of “the seven patriotic gentlemen”. Just because of “the Seven Gentlemen Event”, Shen started going down in history. With the insight of national conditions Shen was excluded from Chiang Kai-sheks government, the opponent of the CPC. On the morning of 23 November, 1936, Chiang Kai-shek ordered to arrest the seven gentlemen. When the seven leaders in the National Salvation Association were interrogated by the authorities，Shen made a defense as attorney. His sallies were so well-founded and convincing that the prosecutor was made mute and nonplussed. In the two-storied back building displays plenty of vivid pictures in which his  life was illustrated from seven different aspects, revealing his glorious life for pursuit of the independence, democracy and freedom. From being aware of saving the nation in his early years to seeking the way of saving the nation in Japan, from advocating constitutional salvation to throwing himself into revolution, from unswerving anti-Japanese activities to the cooperation with the CPC, Shen Junru devoted himself to a democratic and peaceful way in saving the nation.

    Shen Junru, a great man of his time, is a magnificent figure in people’s heart. The Memorial Hall reminds us of his feats always.
