Standing in verdant woods, facing distant mountains and fields, Gutian town is situated in northeast Fujian province. The Site of Gutian Congress is particularly solemn against the scarlet words “the Site of Gutian Congress shines perpetually”.

    At the end of December, 1929, the fourth troop of Red Army held the ninth conference named Gutian Congress in Gutian town. The congress adopted the programmatic document about the party building drafted by Mao Zedong---The Resolution of Gutian Congress, solving basic problems in the building of party and army. 10 materials and 18 ways of inner-party education were regulated, especially ideological and political ways such as launching the inner-party education, criticism and self-criticism being put forward creatively to solve the inner-party contradiction and overcome the wrong inner-party tendency, which was a great feat in history. From then on, the originally unknown Gutian catapulted to one of the sacred places of Chinese revolution.
