Wang Ruofei’s former residence is a place where Wang, a proletarian revolutionist, was born and spent his childhood. The former residence is located at the north street in the old town of Anshun city. From the bustling north street to a quaint gate, a small and exquisite door is at the end of the passageway. Several golden characters “Wang Ruofei’s Former Residence” written by Nie Rongzhen general are on a black ground under the eave of the door.

    The principle room is used to honor martyrs and take an oath for people. A large photo of Wang is hung in the central room, huddled with clumps of fresh flowers. The side banners by Dong Biwu say that Wang’s uprightness is brighter than the sun and moon, and his sober mind is mightier than wind and thunder. Wang Ruofei’s and Huangqi’s biographies are on the side wall in the central room. Some furniture left by Wang’s grandpa, some old photos, handwriting, the inscription by leaders and plenty of stuff are displayed in the rooms beside the principle room and half of the central room. Beside the residence is the new-built Wang Ruofei’s former residence exhibition hall. The new hall fully shows the life story and glorious life of Wang, the great communist soldier and proletarian revolutionist through pictures, records and technology of modern acousto-optic, multimedia, drawing and sculpture.

    Because of Wang’s bravery and insight, he is called silver tongue. Due to firm Party spirit, extensive knowledge, literary talent and his experience about revolution, he won the logomachy and had a niche in history. The CPC, all sectors of the community, democratic parties and some friends held memorial meetings in Yan’an and Chongqing for the April 8^th martyrs. Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and so on sent couplet and published essays to mourn, so did some representatives of democratic parties. They all gave a good appraisal to Wang Ruofei and other April 8^th martyrs.
