Information Resource: People’s Daily (With Adaption)
The revolutionary film Eight Sons will be released nationwide on June 21. The film is adapted from a real historical event of the Eight Soviet Union in southern Jiangxi. It is directed by Gao Xixi, written by Dong Zhe, and starred by Liu Duanduan, Shao Bing, Yue Hong and He Rundong.
Setting in the fifth counter-encirclement campaign of the Red Army in the autumn 1934, the film Eight Sons tells the tragic story of a platoon leader Yang Daniu (acted by Shao Bing) who led his remaining platoon, including the youngest brother Man Zai (acted by Liu Duan), to fiercely fought against odds for several times until the last moment and the last person after all the six brothers were sacrificed.
It is reported that the film has been listed as one of the films for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China by the National Film Bureau.
