Every Chinese has a touch of Chinese red in their hearts. It’s a raging fire which can break through the darkness; it’s the red party flag fluttering in the wind; it’s the shining red star that illuminates the road ahead. The film, Sparking The Red, tells the story of the teenage hero Pan Dongzi who fought against the Japanese invasion during the course of the Red Army’s Long March from 1930 to 1939. His bravery and intelligence made him not only a role model for teenagers, but also a banner of patriotic education today. The theme song of the film, Red Star Song, not only depicted Pan's revolutionary spirit as a young man, but also wrote out his experience of growing under the care of the CPC. This revolutionary song was so widely circulated that currently, the red star is still shining.
