In 2007, Chen Deqi, who engaged in international trades, seized the opportunity of Fujian-Ningxia partnership resettlement program and came to Ningxia for investigating the real estate market. Expectly, he considered it’s worth developing the 10 thousand acres of wasteland at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains and decided to develop the wine industry there.

In the following years, Chen Deqi started to implement a huge reforestation project, planting up to 5 million poplar trees, with an investment of nearly 300 million yuan. Before the grapes were planted, the production base had won the title of "National Model of Greening Unit".

The most common scene seen by the staffs is Chen Deqi immersed himself in working in the fields.

The success of his work is not lost on him. Now, on the land that has been transformed by planting, the grape survival rate has reached to 90%. The winery has developed and planted nearly 50,000 acres of various types of high-quality wine grapes.
