Eighteen years ago, Zeng Fuping departed from prosperous cities to the remote, backward national poverty county, the Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County,Hechi city, Guangxi Province. He engaged in the elimination of poverty with technology.

In order to accumulate experience for alleviating poverty due to relocation, Zeng Fuping positively acted as bridge for promoting the coordination with the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture of CAS, Science and Technology Department of Guangxi, Poverty Relief Office and Government of the Huanjiang County, leading to the establishment of a demonstration area covering more than 4000 acres for poverty alleviation through science and technology.

Poverty alleviation mode developed by Zeng Fuping and his colleagues integrated science research institutions with companies, different bases and the industry. This mode provided the scientific basis and outstanding reference for Huanjiang county and even Hechi city to carry out massive environmental migration, which received high praises from domestic and international specialists.
