The advent of the climax of the National Revolution began with the strike of Shanghai workers against foreign capitalists in May 1925. On May 15th, the Japanese textile mill-owners of Shanghai No.7 Naigai Textile Factory shot and killed Gu Zhenghong, a worker and communist of CPC. On 30th, under the leadership and launch of the Communist Party of China, Shanghai workers and students held a street propaganda campaign and demonstration. The British patrol suddenly fired at the demonstrators on Nanjing Road, which killed 13 students and workers, with many others wounded. And it was the Massacre of the May 30th movement that shocked the whole country.
The May 30th Movement played an important role in the development of the Communist Party of China. The Party began to develop from a secret small party to a proletarian mass party, and many places without party organization established party organizations since then.
