China's manned spaceflight program began in the early 1990s, and a three-step development strategy was defined. In October 2003, China's self-developed Shenzhou V manned spacecraft successfully sent China’s first astronaut into the vast space and the astronaut safely returned. In October 2005, the manned space flight of Shenzhou VI, independently developed by China, achieved a complete success and completed a real man-involved space science experiment of China. Over this process, Chinese aerospace personnel have made great achievements with unremitting self-improvement, unity and cooperation, pioneering and innovation.
