During the past 5 years, our country has made new historic achievements in economic and social development. Economic performance has been stable on the whole, the economic structure has displayed continousoptimization， and China’s GDP hasincreased from less than 70 trillion yuan to over 100 trillion yuan. Great success of building an innovative country have beenmade, with major scientific and technological achievements in manned spaceflight, lunar exploration, deep-sea projects, supercomputing, quantum information and other fields. The accomplishments in poverty alleviation have attracted worldwide attention. 55.75 million poor rural people were lifted out of poverty, and over 9.6 million registered poor people were relocated from inhospitable areas to help them escape the handicaps that the local environment cannot support living. The problem of regional poverty has been solved and the task of eradicating absolute poverty has been completed.
