Beijing, July 30^th(People’s Daily)—Measures for parental subsidies and fertility support were introducedata press conference held by the State Council Information Office.Guo Yanhong,DeputyDirector of the National Health Commission, stated that local pilot programs on parental subsidies have proven effective, and after the introduction of national systems, it must be standardized and coordinatedacross the country.She outlined three guiding principles:A national baseline subsidy of 3,600 yuan per child per year will be established Regions where currrent subsidies fall below this level must adopt the new standard. Regions with exsiting subsidies that exceed the national benchmark may maintain them, subject to a review and filing process. Subsidy policies must be pooled at the prefecture level or above to prevent a fragmented approach.In addition, local authorities are encouraged to adopt multiple measures in combination to form a comprehensive package of birth-support policies, thereby reducing the burden on families.
