In order to achieve better communication of translation, translators should make accurate and ingenious translation on the basis of comprehending linguistic disparities.
Lin Kenan, professor of Tianjin Foreign Studies University, pointed out in his thesis that translation involves audiences’ actual feelings. Translators can follow the principle of “imitation-borrowing-innovation.” For instance, when translating a foreign language into Chinese, translators should fully understand the language and ways of thinking of Chinese so as to imitate and borrow it. Even if no similar expression can be found, translators should follow the idiomatic Chinese and avoid word-to-word translation. In this way, the translation can be understood, accepted, and used by the audience.
