On April 23 in Beijing, Premier Li Keqiang held a phone call from Zhongnanhai Ziguang Pavilion with Phankham Viphavanh, the Prime Minister of Laos.

Premier Li said that China and Laos are friendly neighbors and have a long-term friendship between our people. The China-Laos relationship is always important in China's neighborhood diplomacy. Earlier this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping, the President of the Chinese Republic of China, held calls with General Secretary and President Tonglun. They reached a new and important agreement on promoting the development of bilateral relations. As this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties, the Premier said, China is willing to join Laos in building a friendly relationship. And we have to deepen pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation and make new progress in building a China-Laos community with shared future.
