The 13thChina International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition was inaugurated on September 28, meanwhile, the 38th Research Institute of CETC officially released the Tianxian Constellation Program.
It was reported that the Tianxian Constellationconsists of 96 light and compact high-performance SAR radar satellites, deployed on multiple orbital surfaces. Hisea-1,the constellation test star and China's first commercial SAR satellite, was launched successfully carried by Long March 8 carrier rocket from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center at 12:37 p.m. Beijing time on December 22, 2020. This success fills the gap of China’s commercial SAR satellites and achieve the domestication of commercial SAR satellite data. Hisea-1 ismainly for national security, emergency, industrial applications, and the needs of scientific research, benchmarking against the international advanced indicators. As the light and compact SAR constellation of the first test star developed by the C-band lightweight active phased array antenna technology and integrated central electronic equipment integration technology, it weighs less than 185 kg and has a maximum azimuth resolution of 1 meter.
